Weeds are always enemies with the farming industry. Agriculture does not have a bumper harvest if it is not weeded. The problem of weeding of licorice is a bottleneck restricting the development of licorice industry. Without effective weeding methods, it is almost impossible to achieve large-scale cultivation of licorice. The weeding of licorice must fully consider the high selectivity, high efficiency, safety, low toxicity, low residue, broad spectrum, long-lasting effect and no pollution of the herbicide .
During the Spring Festival, the herbicide test conducted by Dunhuang Licorice Research Institute in Hainan was once again successful. The Hainan experiment once again proved that the herbicide selected and used was effective and safe for licorice.
Characteristics and methods of use of various licorice-specific herbicides:
Herbicide No. 0:
The requirements for use time are strict and the operability is poor. The use of herbicide No. 0 requires that the soil be flat and the humidity is high. Generally, it must be used after sowing or seedling planting, within a few days after watering, and when the weeds have not emerged, which can inhibit the weeding of weed seeds. The spray must be uniform and the dose must be sufficient. Herbicide No. 0 is ineffective against weeds that have sprouted seedlings and is also ineffective against deep-rooted weeds. The general dosage is: low dose of 100 ml per mu, medium dose of 150 ml per mu, high dose of 200 ml per mu. The water distribution should be determined according to the performance test of the spraying machine. When the atomization is good, the water can be less watered. When the atomization effect is poor, the water can be appropriately mixed. The water is generally 30-50 kg per mu. When spraying, do not repeat, do not leak. Seed weeds ensure no weeds within 60 days.
No. 1 herbicide:
In addition to the effect of deep root and tuber weeds, the herbicide No. 1 is used in a timely manner, so that various weed seeds can not be germinated and small weeds can be killed in time. At high doses, it also kills larger weeds. It can be used after seedling and seedling planting. It can be relaxed in time. In the half month after pouring the first water, weeds can be killed as long as the weeds are in the young stage of 3-5 leaves. Ungerminated weeds have an inhibitory effect. Due to the relatively long usage time, the operability is relatively strong. Herbicides sold in the market, which have a closed function, often cannot kill the weeds that have sprouted, and herbicides with herbicidal functions often do not have a sealing function. Herbicide No. 1 combines these two functions. As long as the dosage is sufficient, the spray is even, and the water is reasonable, it can be kept for 70 days without weeds, which greatly reduces the cost of weeding. The normal dosage is 70 ml per mu (suitable for seedlings or seedlings, no weeds or weeds in the ground), medium dose 100 ml, high dose 130 ml. When more than 130 ml, no experimental data proves the effects and side effects, but it has been proved that even for deep root weeds, there is a greater killing. Herbicide No. 1 is also safe for licorice. It is recommended to use it within the range of 70-130 ml when using. Similarly, the amount of water to be exchanged depends on the performance of the spray machine.
Herbicide No. 2:
Herbicide No. 2 has better herbicidal effects on deep-rooted and monocotyledonous weeds, such as ice grass. If such weeds occur in large areas, the use of herbicide No. 2 has a significant effect. It has a make-up effect on the use of herbicides No. 0 and No. 1. In general, in the case of the correct use of herbicide No. 1, it is also possible to use no herbicide No. 2. Herbicide No. 2 must also be used in the seedling stage of weeds 1-3 leaves, sprayed evenly with a sprayer, with less dosage, slower effect, longer duration of action. When the licorice is not emerged, the dosage is less than 60 ml per acre. After the licorice is emerged, the dosage can be controlled within 40-60 ml. Herbicide No. 2 is very sensitive to monocotyledonous weeds, but it is also safe for licorice.
The above three herbicides are all produced by the Licorice Research Institute and commissioned by the National Chemical Research Institute. They are in full compliance with the national standards for pesticides, and all growers can use them with confidence.
In the mechanical aspect of spraying, it has been proved that large-scale machinery works best, and hand-operated sprayers often overlap and omission in actual operation. The most cost-effective way is to use a small four-wheel tractor, use a motorized sprayer pump, and use a steel pipe or a hard plastic tube to make a nozzle.
Before the spraying of perennial licorice, the dry stems of licorice should be removed first, and the land should be properly leveled.
Last year, in the use of herbicides, the overall situation was successful. When the weeds were used in 3-5 leaves, the effect was generally good. However, some growers also reported that the herbicidal effect was not obvious. The reason is mainly because the medication time is too late, the dose is too small, and the timing of weeding is not accurate.
Although our herbicides are fully in line with national standards and are produced by qualified national chemical research institutes, the quality of the products is no problem, but it is still in the experimental and self-testing stage. Our herbicides are specially made, self-contained, and are restricted to our order growers and are not for sale. The declared use regulations must not be violated by technical representatives and growers.
The safety issues that should be noted in the use of herbicides are:
The transportation and storage of herbicides should be carried out in special transportation and in person.
Herbicides should be stored in places where the elderly, children and poultry, livestock cannot be involved and ventilated and dry.
In use, wear plastic gloves and a mask to avoid direct contact with the skin. After spraying, flush the face with soapy water and spray the equipment in time. When conditions permit, the herbicide-spraying device can be used separately from other instruments.
Although herbicides are safe for licorice and less toxic to humans and animals, they must not be accidentally consumed.
