Saint-Gobain (North America) Abrasives Co., Ltd. is about to break ground in June to build a new factory.
Recently, Saint-Gobain (North America) Abrasives Co., Ltd. announced that it plans to spend $1.4 million to expand the existing abrasive production scale in Trafler, South Carolina.
According to the South Carolina Department of Commerce, Saint-Gobain (North America) Abrasives Co., Ltd. will break ground this month to build a new plant and purchase new machinery and equipment in July.
According to the South Carolina Department of Commerce, Saint-Gobain (North America) Abrasives Co., Ltd. will combine the North Carolina business with the new plant in Lavre-Reister, while adding new production equipment and expanding existing Plant area.
“Our production facility in Greenville County is an important part of the company's production and we will expand our business there,†said Robert Smith, General Manager of the Industrial Superhard Abrasives Division of Saint-Gobain (North America). “This expansion is to help us better meet our customers' product requirements and better market positioning. We look forward to the steady progress of the program and thank the state and local officials for their selfless help.â€
Saint-Gobain (North America) Abrasives is a division of Saint-Gobain Group, based in Paris, France, which manufactures and sells bonded abrasives, coated abrasives, superabrasives and ultra-thin grinding wheels. The production plant of Lavre Rest was founded in 1982 and produces: superhard abrasives, industrial diamonds, cubic boron carbide. These products are widely used in precision machining of aerospace, automotive, and bearing manufacturing.
The company also operates a manufacturing facility in North Charleston, South Carolina, and a joint venture in Fontin. The company has established sales departments for its products in Conway, South Carolina, and Hanahan.
