Zhang Ping said that the electric power industry has been striving to change the mode of development and promote structural upgrading. Since the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan” period, it has cumulatively eliminated 71 million kilowatts of small thermal power units and made substantial progress in the adjustment of thermal power units. At the same time, the rapid development of clean electricity, hydropower installed capacity exceeded 200 million kilowatts, wind power installed capacity reached 22 million kilowatts, ranking third in the world. The scale of nuclear power under construction ranks first in the world. At the same time, transmission technology and power equipment manufacturing projects have also reached new heights.
