Japanese Minister of Trade Tadashi Zhanghong called for China to resume the export of rare earths to Japan. Last month, China severely inspected its exports to Japan due to diplomatic disputes between the two countries, causing the export of rare earths to Japan to stagnate.
Dahong Zhang Hong held talks with Jiang Yaoping, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Commerce of China, who came to participate in the Japan-China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Comprehensive Forum. He told reporters that he called for Jiang Yaoping to "make improvements so that the rare earth can be successfully exported."
Jiang Yaoping said that this is to prevent rare earth smuggling measures taken, not for Japan, and China will strive to avoid obstacles in Sino-Japanese economic and trade relations.
Last month, Japan seized the captain of a Chinese fishing boat in the disputed Diaoyu Islands sea area, causing the relations between the two countries to remain in a stalemate, and China's export of rare earths to Japan was interrupted.
A senior Japanese official warned on Thursday that Japan’s rare earth inventory may be used in March next year. Rare earth is an essential material for high-tech products.
China has not formally announced the ban on rare earths. However, all 31 Japanese companies that import rare earths have reported that their sources have been interrupted.
According to media reports, Japanese Prime Minister Naoto Kan will be in Hanoi this week to participate in ASEAN and partner country summits. If he is able to meet with Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao on the sidelines, he is expected to raise the issue of rare earths.

Extruded Polystyrene Board is divided into two kinds: expansive EPS and continuous extrusion type XPS. Compared with EPS sheet, XPS plate is the third generation of rigid foam insulation material. It overcomes the complicated production process of EPS board from technology, and has the superior performance that EPS board can not replace.
