On Friday, the team conducted a test on an ordinary road in Japan, showing that current can be transmitted through a 6-inch thick road surface. During the test, 50-60 watts of current was sent to a real tire, and a light bulb lit to show how the current passed through 6-inch-thick concrete before entering a real-sized car tire.

Professor Takashi Ohir, who heads the research, said that the concrete thickness in the test was magnified to 12 inches without problems, although this required an increase of 100 times the voltage to drive a car. He pointed out that there is no technical problem.
