So, what is the important role of instrumentation and measurement control in promoting the development of science and technology, economy and society? In 2000, the China Instrument and Control Society was commissioned by the State Planning Commission, the State Economic and Trade Commission and the Ministry of Science and Technology to organize an expert research team to conduct a three-month investigation and study on the national instrumentation industry. Since the important position and role of instrumentation and measurement control have been highly valued by the society, the state has taken a series of major measures to accelerate development in recent years. It is in such a very favorable situation that in recent years, China's instrumentation and measurement control has developed rapidly.
Second, the basic situation
When it comes to the basic overview of instrumentation and measurement control, there should be two aspects, namely disciplines and industries.
Is instrumentation an independent discipline? There has been controversy in the past. Today, we can answer without hesitation, instrumentation and measurement control have developed into an independent and complete discipline. We have four good reasons for this conclusion. First, the instrumentation and measurement control disciplines have their own set of basic theories and techniques, including sensor theory and technology, detection measurement theory and technology, signal processing theory and technology, error analysis theory and technology, and automatic control theory. Now it is named as “Instrument Science and Technologyâ€. Nearly 250 colleges and universities in China have set up corresponding majors and more than 30,000 undergraduates. And more than 10,000 graduate students study at school. China's colleges and universities have set professional training objectives and norms for the discipline of "instrument science and technology". They have trained hundreds of thousands of disciplines for instrumentation and measurement control. Third, instrumentation and measurement control is an engineering application discipline. The formation and development of the industry that is compatible with it is the material basis and technical support for the development of the discipline. China's instrumentation industry has already reached a considerable scale, which will be discussed in detail below. Therefore, the instrumentation and measurement control discipline is not in the ivory tower, but has a strong vitality and development space. Fourth, instrumentation and measurement control disciplines There is a national academic group at the national level - China Instrument and Control Society. The Institute has done a great deal of work in promoting the progress of the discipline and has achieved remarkable results. It is extraordinary to learn to carry out research on subject progress in recent years, which not only strengthens the basic construction of the discipline, but also enriches the content of the subject activities and expands the space for the development of the discipline.
