The French designer Olgga's latest student housing design, which consists of 100 abandoned containers, is creative, turning waste into treasure, and low-carbon energy.
From the premise of modern architectural design to ship-to-cargo-style design, the French architect Olga's latest student housing design has unexpectedly brought us new surprises. This architect, who is always pursuing innovation, recycles 100 abandoned containers and uses them to build a box-like (or container-like) living space for students.
In order to participate in the competition hosted by the University of Haute Normandie Regional Services and Welfare Center in France, Oga elaborately designed this student housing design. The main purpose of this competition is to encourage architects to use abandoned containers to design a new living environment for students. It requires that designers' works must be feasible and maneuverable.
Oga's work finally won second place. His work covers an area of 2,900 square meters and the total cost is as high as 4.5 million euros. Each container used in the work is a separate room where learning, bathing and entertainment facilities are all available.
