The U.S. Department of Commerce finally decided on Monday to impose an anti-dumping tax of up to 60.85% on several hundred million U.S. dollars worth of imported copper pipes in China, which was one of the disputes that caused Sino-U.S. trade frictions.
The U.S. Department of Commerce has announced that it will impose anti-dumping duties of 11.25-60.85% on Chinese copper pipes and anti-dumping duties of 24.89-31.43% on Mexican copper pipes.
In 2009, the United States imported a total of 233 million U.S. dollars worth of copper pipes from China. The total value of copper pipes imported from Mexico was 130 million U.S. dollars.
Yesterday China finally decided to impose an anti-dumping tax of 50.3-105.4% on broilers imported from the United States. The US Department of Commerce announced today the final decision to impose anti-dumping duties on Chinese imports of copper.
The US House of Representatives Fundraising Committee passed a bill last Friday, which considered China’s “undervaluation†as an export subsidy. The bill will be sent to the House of Commons this week for voting, opening the door for the Ministry of Commerce to impose import duties on Chinese products.
