Basic difference
I-beam is mainly divided into three types: ordinary I-beam, light I-beam and H-shaped steel.
The flange of ordinary I-beam and light I-beam is thicker than the thickness of the web and thin outside; H-shaped steel: HW HM HN HEA HEB HEM and other flanges of I-beam are equal sections
Ordinary I-beam and light I-beam have formed national standards. Ordinary 10# I-beam is equivalent to the international I100 (also like 10# channel steel equivalent to channel U100) (because the standards implemented by countries are different, causing them There are subtle differences in specifications)
H-shaped I-beam is also called wide-flange I-beam, HW HM HN is derived from European standards, and HEB is German-standard I-beam. Among them, I, HW and HN I-beams have been widely used and produced in China. HEA HEB HEM will be seen on many German designs and is difficult to purchase in the domestic market. In domestic steel structure engineering, if the amount is small, it can be welded and spliced using steel plates of different specifications. For large quantities, it is usually considered to use HW and HN steels with similar mechanical properties.
HW I-beam is mainly used for steel core columns in reinforced concrete frame columns, also called steel columns; it is mainly used for columns in steel structures.
The ratio of HM steel height and flange width is approximately 1.33~~1.75. Mainly in steel structure: used as steel frame column in frame structure with dynamic load; used as equipment platform
HN steel height and flange width ratio is greater than or equal to 2; mainly used for beams
The use of ordinary I-beam is equivalent to HN steel;
