The research team commissioned the China Tell Laboratory of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology to conduct a third-party test on the single-channel real-time 610Mbps visible light communication. The results are as follows:

Based on 1 watt fluorescent white LED and PIN detector under OOK modulation single-channel real-time transmission of the average rate of 610Mbps, in the transmission distance of 6.2 meters, the average BER of 3.5e-5 magnitude, far lower than the forward error correction The upper bit error rate requires 3.8e-3.

Based on the research foundation of high-speed real-time transmission of visible light communication technology, the research team built the following types of visible light communication demonstration systems:

1. Two-way symmetrical 100Mbps light access system based on 1W fluorescent white LED and PIN detector.

2. Two-way symmetrical 10Mbps densely populated lighting internet access system based on 1 watt blue LED and PIN detector.

3. Mobile phone visible light communication system and multimedia broadcasting system based on fluorescent white LED and PIN detector.

Chen Xiongbin believes that the new technology of visible light communication, wireless optical communication, is more in line with the development direction of wireless communication technology than traditional radio communication technology (high speed, large capacity, and security), and will lead to many innovative applications in the future. China has a large number of LED companies and a vast semiconductor lighting market. This basic advantage is beyond the reach of other countries.
