Guangzhou International Furniture Fair combines domestic and foreign sales with initial transformation results

From September 6th to 9th, China Guangzhou International Furniture Fair was held in Pazhou China Import and Export Fair Complex. The exhibition showed that the journey of the furniture industry, which had been affected by the decline of the European and American markets, has quietly begun: from a single export to a combination of domestic and foreign sales.
According to China Customs statistics, due to the impact of the international financial crisis, the total export value of China's furniture industry in the first half of the year was 11.76 billion US dollars, a decrease of 9.8% over the same period of the previous year. The total sales value of furniture in Guangdong Province was 71.5 billion yuan, and the domestic sales of furniture was 40.5 billion yuan. Both semi-annual exports and domestic sales were down 10% from the same period last year. In this context, the Guangzhou Furniture Fair this fall put forward the guidelines for the exhibition of “consolidating overseas markets and opening up domestic markets” and actively deepening into the secondary and tertiary markets in Southwest China, East China and North China.
The reporter saw on the scene that the modern exhibition area and the classical furniture exhibition area were still the most popular part of the participants. Among them, only the sofa area of ​​the modern exhibition area reached 50,000 square meters, the scale increased by 60% compared with the same period of last year; while the classical furniture exhibition area attracted 220 enterprises to participate in the exhibition area of ​​30,000 square meters, an increase of 25%.
