Recently, the “Preparation Method of a Hydrophobic Ceramic Surface†invented by Cui Yuehua, a researcher of the Chongqing Institute of Green Intelligent Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was granted a national invention patent (Patent No. ZL201410038229.4).
The invention provides a method for preparing a hydrophobic ceramic surface. First, the surface of the ceramic to be treated is cleaned, dried, placed in a silane compound, a silicone compound or a polymer solution thereof, and subjected to ultrasonic treatment. The metal powder catalyst is added to the solution and then sonicated to obtain a hydrophobic ceramic.
The invention has simple equipment input, low cost, simple process, good reproducible performance, production cycle can be controlled within several minutes, high production efficiency, and suitable for large-scale production. The prepared ceramic surface has good stability of hydrophobicity, resistance to general friction, acid and alkali resistance, resistance to organic solvents, and high temperature resistance below 200 degrees. Especially for irregular shaped ceramic products, a surface with a uniform hydrophobicity can be prepared.
