China Ceramic Tiles Entry Certification: European EN Standards for Tile Entry

From June 12th to 13th, the PCCS-CT Certification Review Conference for Mainland Ceramics Entry in Hong Kong was held at Foshan Jinhuan Ceramics. The second phase of PCCS-CT certification for Jinhua Ceramics related tile products was reviewed. The auditors propose corresponding improvements to these companies. Dr. Yin Hong, Secretary-General of Foshan Ceramic Industry Association, attended the accreditation review meeting as the technical consultant of Jiali High Certification Service Co., Ltd., the certification body. In addition, representatives of the Hong Kong Government Certification Office and relevant experts from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University participated in the relevant supervision of the audit and will be responsible for reporting the review to the Hong Kong government.

According to the European EN standards, PCCS-CT certification for the entry of Mainland tiles into Hong Kong started from 2010. Since 2010, ceramic tiles entering the Hong Kong market must all have PCCS-CT certification approved by Jia Ligao Certified Service Co., Ltd., a professional organization commissioned by the Hong Kong Testing and Certification Bureau.

According to Dr. Yin Hong, Secretary-General of the Foshan Ceramics Industry Association, a technical consultant of the certification body “Jia Ligao Certification Service Co., Ltd.”, the technical standards adopted by the PCCS-CT certification are European EN standards. The standard is not much different from the domestic ones, but it is temporarily not required in the radiation index. "But there are a series of relatively strict requirements on the management of companies involved in certification, such as the requirement to implement the IS9000 management system, and this management must go deep into the company's workshop, because the audit team will go to the company to ask workers.

The certification process is divided into three steps. The certification review process is basically divided into three steps. The first step is to visit the company that initiated the application. After the visit, a certification scheme suitable for the company is issued. Then according to the plan to carry out the corresponding specific work, companies cooperate. The second step is to carry out inspections and verifications of specific information and corresponding items, and to propose improvements for non-conforming items, and to propose improvements for some areas that are not well-formed. The third step is the final review.

The future will be enforced Dr. Yin Hong told reporters that this certification is very detailed and strict, in addition to the review meeting, there is also an audit team will go deep inside the company to conduct audits of factories and staff, and conduct a detailed review of various documents. At present, this type of certification is still non-mandatory, but it will slowly transition to mandatory implementation in the future. At the same time, this kind of certification will also be continuously improved with the development of the mainland. "Actually, some thresholds for entry will be improved. On the whole, there are still many benefits. Through the certification process, it can help Tao Enterprise to have more standardized production, quality and management."

It is understood that Hong Kong consumers have earlier accepted tiles imported from Europe and other places. In recent years, many Hong Kong people have been attracted by the cheap, variety and comfortable and spacious shopping environment in the mainland market, and they have been shopping in Shenzhen and other regions. However, due to continuous product quality problems in the food industry in the Mainland and Hong Kong's “Ma Tau Wai Road Building Collapse”, Hong Kong people questioned the quality and safety of the goods in the Mainland. Although overall, in recent years, mainland tile and other building materials have continued to show an upward trend in the Hong Kong market, this concern has not been eliminated. Therefore, the Housing Authority requested that the building materials certification be introduced in phases starting from 2010 as a building material. Enter the Hong Kong market to set a threshold, namely PCCS-CT certification.

At the same time, the Hong Kong Testing and Certification Bureau also regards building materials as one of its key accredited industries. It is also clear from the three-year development blueprint report that began in 2010 that building materials are one of the key inspection and certification industries. The plan includes product certification for the firewall and curtain wall spacing required for the project in early 2010, the introduction of cement and tile adhesives in 2010, and certification requirements for the introduction of tile and repair mortar at the end of 2010.

Polypropylene balls have excellent chemical resistance and low density as well as the highest melting point of the volume thermoplastics. Polyethylene balls often used in check valves, relief valves, and float valves, these balls won`t swell when exposed to water. Polyethylene balls offer good chemical resistance. Polypropylene balls are highly resistant to chemicals such as acids, alkalies, alcohols and many inorganic chemicals.
